On the other side, nature was painting its own daily masterpiece — a breathtaking sunset.
Golden and violet hues stretched across the horizon, merging feelings of beauty and serenity with the farewell of a lively, magical day, all within this small global community atop the skatepark hill.

Location of Taghazout Skatepark and How to Get There
Taghazout Skatepark is located on the northern side of the village, perched on a hill that directly overlooks Anchor Point, offering breathtaking views of the ocean and the small village of Taghazout.
Getting There from Inside Taghazout Village
Reaching the skatepark from the village center is easy and straightforward. The shortest and most convenient route is to climb the hill, starting on the right side of the village street, just before reaching the Rooftop Restaurant.
In the evening, you’ll find many visitors and skaters making their way up between the argan trees toward the top, adding a lively and vibrant atmosphere to the place.
Getting There from Agadir, Essaouira, or Nearby Villages
If you are coming from outside the village and want to go directly to the skatepark without entering the village center, it’s recommended to drive along the coastal national road toward Essaouira, Imsouane, or Tamri.
The skatepark is clearly visible beside the road and is often bustling with skaters, making it easy to spot.
Note: There are parking spots near the hill, making access convenient for visitors, whether by car or bike.
The Story Behind Taghazout Skatepark
The idea of creating Taghazout Skatepark first came to life in 2017, initiated by the non-profit organization Make Life Skate Life (MLSL), together with local active youth from Taghazout and international volunteers from nearly 22 countries.
The project originally aimed to provide a safe and free space for local and visiting youth to skate, while also promoting cultural and social activities. The skatepark was built with the collaboration of over 100 volunteers from these 22 different countries, spanning a total area of 650 square meters.
During my visit in September 2025, I saw the local team preparing a new skate ramp that will soon be added, expanding the park even further.
Over the years, Taghazout Skatepark has evolved from a space primarily for local skaters into a small global community, where hundreds of young people from around the world gather every evening before sunset to share their passion for skating and global surf culture.
My Personal Experience at Taghazout Skatepark
The first thing I strongly recommend when visiting Taghazout Skatepark is to try skateboarding.
Admittedly, I am not usually a fan of this exhilarating sport, but the charm of the place and its unique atmosphere swept me away, and I couldn’t resist giving it a try.
I slipped lightly through the crowds into the Skatepark Taghazout Morocco shop, a small door opening directly toward the sunset. Inside, hoodies hung on the walls with skatepark slogans, alongside shirts, skateboards, and stickers. The shop felt like a small hidden cellar, yet it carried a special charm—a blend of local vibes and the global culture of surfing and skateboarding, right in the heart of Taghazout.
I rented a skateboard, fully aware that a few tumbles were inevitable, but the experience was absolutely worth it. I headed to the beginner area near an argan tree, on a small slope dotted with large rocks, where a local resident serves coffee to visitors.
For thirty minutes, I tried to balance on the board and glide gently, feeling the sea breeze caress my body in the evening. The experience was fun and joyful, and luckily, I didn’t fall once, making my very first skateboarding session here magical and unforgettable
Watching the Pros at Taghazout Skatepark
While I was trying to find my balance on a skateboard, the atmosphere around me grew even more electrifying as the sunset approached. Most of the spectators had their phones out, capturing the daring jumps and tricks of the local and international pro skaters.
The sound of applause for every impressive move gave everyone a surge of adrenaline, while the small wheels scraped against the edges of the ramps, creating tiny sparks barely visible in the warm pre-sunset light. The DJ’s beats added another layer of energy, making the whole scene feel alive and contagious.
After a light 20-minute skate session, I put my board back and sat down to watch the skaters’ breathtaking performances. The beauty of it all is how easy it is to blend into this vibrant community. Taghazout Skatepark’s environment is incredibly welcoming, ensuring that everyone has a great time, meets new friends, and shares the excitement of this magical spot.
The Sunset Sessions at Taghazout Skatepark
On the northern side of the skatepark, overlooking the vast Atlantic, something else caught my eye from afar — that mesmerizing sunset.
Forgive me, for since childhood, growing up in my small village in the High Atlas, I’ve always been used to bidding farewell to the sun’s gentle rays from atop the hills. It was there that my love for sunsets was born, and honestly, it has never left me.
At Taghazout Skatepark, on my first day, I simply captured the beauty in photos, unable to fully absorb the moment. But the next day, I returned with a small companion — a cup of coffee from a charming mobile coffee cart at the park.
As the sunset approached, dozens of visitors like me, with sensitive hearts and curious eyes, were mesmerized by the view. Every sip of coffee felt like a shared moment with nature, as Taghazout Skatepark generously offered its magic and calm in each fleeting second.

Certainly, one often feels hungry, especially in a beachside setting like Skatepark Taghazout which naturally awakens your appetite for food and drinks. Luckily, the park hosts a series of food and coffee stalls, as well as fresh juice stands, run by local youth from Taghazout.
Personally, I had coffee twice during my visit and loved it – priced at 10 MAD per cup. Other juices and snacks range from 15 to 40 MAD.
